TYLER - Services for Donald VanDerostyne of Luverne, formerly of Ivanhoe, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 5:30, all at the church. Burial will be in Danebod Cemetery in Tyler. Arrangements are provided by Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler.

He died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne.

He was born July 15, 1932, in Lyon County, to Edmond and Emma (VanWatermeulen) VanDerostyne. He joined the United States Army on May 21, 1953, and was discharged on March 3, 1955, having been stationed in Germany and Austria during the Korean War.

Survivors include his children, Kevin of Lake Preston, S.D., Brian of Tyler and Linda Sutherland of Lake Benton; two grandsons; and sisters, Evelyn Anthony and Katherine Skorczewski, both of Canby.
