MARSHALL - Once Pipestone's Mitch Carson settled in, Marshall had a tough road back, with the runs stopping after the third inning as Drooger struck out six and walked just two in a 6-2 Pipestone win.
He gave up the two runs on seven hits.
"Luke is our number one pitcher," Pipestone manager Rick Zollner said. "He finds what works for him. His fast ball didn't have as much giddyup on it today, so he got his curveball working. He was able to put it in the strikezone and was very intelligent on the mound."

Chris Allen got the start on the mound for Marshall and worked five innings, striking out three and walking two. He allowed five runs on seven hits.
Jack Boerboom pitched the final two innings and recorded one strikeout against four walks.
Mckinley Bush led Pipestone with two RBI while the Arrows got one each from Austin Moeller, Nathan Westfield, Mitchell Biever and Michael Friese.
Clay Stevens and Brock Boerboom drove in the two runs for Marshall while Allen and Logan Tomasek each had two hits in four at-bats.
Despite the loss, Marshall manager Paul Blanchard was encouraged by some of the things he saw.
"We took care of the baseball a lot better (than in the last inning)," Blanchard said. "We threw a guy out at second who was trying to steal. We caught some balls in the outfield and we didn't lose any pop ups."
Blanchard saw slight improvement in the team's hitting, an ongoing issue, despite not having two of its stronger hitters.
