There was a steady line of people waiting to sink their teeth into an ear or two at the American Legion membership corn feed Monday evening at Legion Field in Marshall. According to volunteer Tom McLaughlin, approximately 600 ears of sweet corn were hauled in from his farm for the feed, which was open to all members of the American Legion family, including Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion. Old fashioned hot dogs and refreshments were also served. Bonnie Davis, waits patiently for her ear of corn from volunteer Dan Markell. “This is the first sweet corn I’ve had this year,” Davis said.
