SNELLVILLE, Ga. - Lloyd Earl Grow, Jr. 73, was laid to rest Thursday, Aug. 14, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
He died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at his home in Snellville, Georgia.
He was born Feb. 22, 1941, in Marshall, to Lloyd Earl Sr. and Lillian Grow.
He attended school in Marshall, graduating in 1959.
He entered the United States Army on Jan. 8, 1961, and served in various assignments in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. During his service, he received the following awards: the Purple Heart for Bravery, Good Conduct Medal 7th Award, National Defense Service Medal, Expeditionary Forces Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallentry and the Meritorious Service Medal.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Arnold and Gerald.
Survivors include his wife, Lang; daughters, Susan and Linda; sons James and Hanh; stepchildren Diane, Thuy and Hau Nguyen; sister Elaine Gamec; brother Lowell Grow; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
