YOUTH WRESTLING: Tiger youth wrestlers take first at home tournament last weekend

MARSHALL – The Marshall youth wrestlers took first place at their home tournament last weekend. The tournament drew in 12 K-6 teams from both MN and SD.

The Tigers defeated Luverne 78-6 and Tri-Valley (SD) 65-13 in pool play. They went on to beat Aberdeen (SD) 54-16 in the semi-finals and took home the championship by defeating Tea Area (SD) 38-34. The Tiger K-6 Team also came home with a 1st place finish after competing in the Cobra Wrestling duals (Windom) the prior weekend. At the Cobra Wrestling Duals the Tigers defeated Windom 54-24, Fulda/MCC 67-4 and Adrian 52-17.

The K-6 team has an 11-0 record so far. They are next in action Friday night in Dawson.
