Liberalism, California fires and the Bible
Liberalism is a desire to be free of authority and where it all started, I believe, is in the Garden of Eden, where the first two liberals, ever, are found. They were told by God that they could eat of any tree in the garden except from the ” tree of knowledge of good and evil…”(Genesis 2:17). “Now the serpent was more crafty … and said to the woman ‘You will not surely die … your eyes will be opened and you will be like God knowing good and evil.”(Gen. 3:1-5). They didn’t want to abide by the rules but wanted to be the rule makers. Before that, however, God had given Adam a job to do, “God put him in the Garden of Eden “to work it and take care of it.”(Gen. 2:15) and from then till this day we tell God we know better how to take care of His creation.
The savagery of the California fires, is in part, a result of not taking care of the garden,” ie. the removing of dead material from the forest floor. The policies of “let nature take its course” flies in the face of to “work it and take care of it.” Despite the loss of life and property, the liberals defend their policies and blame man made global warming as the culprit when, believe it or not, the Bible talks about that as well. In Genesis 8: 21b&22, after the world wide flood God declares, “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” God has the climate in hand. Doesn’t that just give you peace?
The liberals are all about conjuring up fear for control over us with their global warming rhetoric, but we can just smile and read our Bibles.
If you want to have a quiet peaceable life, look to God’s word. You’ll be amazed at how it pertains to day to day living which gives me peace in this life and for the afterlife. Check it out.
