Skogrand achieves Circle of Success Recognition at Ameriprise Financial

Corey Skogrand, CFP, ChFC, CLU a private wealth adviser with Van der Hagen, Skogrand & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC in Marshall, has qualified for the company’s Circle of Success annual recognition program and will be honored for this achievement in 2023.

Hanson joins Johnson Family Dental Care

Johnson Family Dental Care would like to welcome Dr. Ben Hanson.

Hanson grew up in Gwinner, N.D., and attended college at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biology, he moved to Nebraska where he attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys going to the lake, sporting events, grilling, spending time with friends and family, and most importantly cheering on the Vikings. He is moving to Marshall with his wife Karissa, son Jack, and dog Margo.

North Star Mutual announces promotions

Marcy Heemeyer has been promoted to senior vice president. She began employment with North Star in 2018 as department manager. In 2020, she was promoted to vice president of Human Resources. Heemeyer holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies, with a minor in criminal justice from South Dakota State University. In her new role, she will have oversight of the Human Resources department and its functions.

Lora Hopp-Hansen will assume the role of North Star’s corporate secretary following Mike Flugum’s retirement. Hopp-Hansen has worked for North Star since 2022 and currently holds the position of general counsel and senior vice president.

Chad Johnson, CPA, CPCU, AIAF, AINS, will assume the role of North Star’s corporate treasurer following Mike Flugum’s retirement. Johnson has worked for North Star since 2014 and currently holds the position of senior vice president.

Andrew Suby State Farm adds new team members

Andrew Suby State Farm welcomes Abbey Agra and Deanna Mozak to its team.

Agra is licensed in property and casualty insurance. She was born in Pennsylvania, and lived in North Carolina and Okinawa, Japan, for most of her life because of her father’s career in the Marine Corps. Agra currently lives in Marshall and will graduate from Southwest Minnesota State University in May 2024 with a degree in finance and English literature.

Mozak is licensed in property and casualty insurance. She was born and raised in Marshall. After 26 years in apartment property management with 16 of those years in Phoenix, Arizona, Mozak recently moved back to Marshall to begin a career in insurance and to be near family.
