Fatal, injury crashes reported in Murray Co.
One person was killed, and two people were injured in a pair of separate crashes in Murray County this week, the Murray County Sheriff’s Office said.
Michael Swenson, of Hadley, was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle crash south of Currie early Wednesday morning, the Sheriff’s Office said. Two people were also injured in a crash north of Hadley on Tuesday morning.
The Murray County dispatch received a call at 4:29 a.m. Wednesday reporting a crash at the intersection of Murray County Road 38 and 121st Street.
Murray County deputies located a 2000 Ford F-150 operated by Swenson at the crash scene. Swenson had been ejected from the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Murray County Ambulance, the Murray County coroner, and the Buffalo Ridge Drug and Violent Crime Task Force all responded at the crash scene.
Two people were also injured in a crash north of Hadley on Tuesday morning. The Murray County dispatch received a 911 call at 8:03 a.m. reporting a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Murray County Road 29 and 121st Street.
A 2013 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Michael Keleher, of Hadley, and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Matthew Arends, of Luverne, were involved in the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said. Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by the Slayton Fire Department and transported to Murray County Medical Center. Keleher was later transported by air ambulance to Sioux Falls, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The Slayton Fire Department, Murray County Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Buffalo Ridge Drug and Violent Crime Task Force all responded at the crash scene.
