Fellow state senators elect Dahms to leadership role
ST. PAUL — State Sen. Gary Dahms, R-Redwood Falls, was recently chosen to serve as an assistant Senate minority leader. Sen. Mark Johnson, R-East Grand Forks, will continue in the role as Senate minority leader.
In his role, Dahms said he will focus on guiding the caucus strategy and collaborating with members to advance key legislative goals.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the leadership team for the Senate Republican Caucus,” Dahms said in his Thursday press release.
The rest of the Senate Republican leadership team will include Senators Julia Coleman, R-Waconia,
Karin Housley R-Stillwater, John Jasinski, R-Faribault, Michael Kreun, R-Blaine and Jordan Rasmusson, R-Fergus Falls.
The 2025-2026 legislative session will begin at noon on Jan. 14.
