One injured in Hwy. 23 crash

HANLEY FALLS — A Marshall teen was injured in a crash involving a semi truck Wednesday morning on Minnesota Highway 23, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Kilyn Olive Deuel, 16, was taken to Avera Granite Falls with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash was reported at 7:03 a.m., near the intersection of Highway 23 and 200th Avenue in Hanley Falls. A 2018 Freightliner driven by Jose Flores, Jr., 47, of Bellmead, Texas, was traveling southbound at the time of the crash, and a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Deuel was northbound, the State Patrol said. The two vehicles collided near the intersection, the State Patrol said.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Granite Falls Ambulance, the Upper Sioux Police, and the Hanley Falls Fire Department all responded at the crash scene.
