A Marshall man appeared in Meeker County District Court last week on charges that he engaged in sexual activity with a 12-year-old victim, court records said.

Jonah Thomas Nauman, 20, was charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.

A criminal complaint alleges that Nauman contacted the child on social media. The complaint alleges that Nauman traveled to meet with the victim on two separate occasions, once in Grove City and once in Paynesville, and engaged in sexual activity.

Nauman appeared in court Dec. 23, Meeker County court records said. Bail was set at $500,000 without conditions, or $250,000 cash or bond with conditions including that Nauman not come within 500 feet of the victim’s residence and have no contact with individuals under 18. A future hearing date was set for Feb. 4.
