Day 1 of testimony wraps up in Broadmoor trial
MARSHALL — The first day of witness testimony came to a close Wednesday in the civil trial against the owners of the Broadmoor Valley mobile home park in Marshall.
After an afternoon break, jurors continued hearing testimony from the environmental health manager of Southwest Health and Human Services. SWHHS conducts inspections of mobile home parks in Lyon County. Jason Kloss of SWHHS answered questions about park inspection and followup reports dating from 2018 up through 2024. Standing water on roads, potholes, and issues like leaks in the park’s storm shelter repeatedly showed up in the reports presented to the jury.
Court proceedings wrapped up around 4:15 p.m. District Court Judge Tricia Zimmer said the trial would continue Thursday morning, with more testimony from Kloss.
