MARSHALL — Lyon County officials elected this fall were officially sworn in Tuesday, at the first County Board meeting of 2025. A total of three county commissioners and two Lyon County Soil and Water Supervisors took the oath of office.

In November, three of the seats on the Lyon County Board were up for election, with two of the races uncontested. On Tuesday, Todd Draper was sworn in as commissioner in District 2, which represents part of the city of Marshall. Gary Crowley was sworn in as commissioner in District 4, which represents the northern half of Lyon County. Rick Anderson was sworn in for Commissioner District 5, which represents the southern half of Lyon County. Anderson won a contested commissioner race against Tom Chandler.

There were three Soil and Water Supervisor races in Lyon County this fall, and two of the newly-elected supervisors were present for Tuesday’s swearing-in. Gary Laleman was sworn in for Soil and Water District 1, and Mason Johnson was sworn in for Soil and Water District 3.

Justin Hively, who was elected Soil and Water Supervisor in District 5, was not present at Tuesday’s meeting.
