Sleepy Eye man faces threat of violence charge

SLEEPY EYE — A 33-year-old Sleepy Eye man is accused of threatening to kill a former U.S. House of Representatives member on social media.

Tucker Lee Hittesdorf faces a felony threat of violence charge in Brown County District Court for allegedly making the threat by email in September because his social media account was suspended for spamming.

According to court documents, Tucker Lee Hittesdorf received an email from Truth Social that his account was suspended Sept. 19 for spamming (sending unwanted bulk messages).

Several hours later, Hittesdorf responded with profanity to the sender and threatened to kill the CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), a former U.S. House member.

According to an Oct. 15 email to Sleepy Eye Police Investigator Shawn Bohnen from the Minnesota Fusion Center, a branch of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the FBI stated it would defer the case to local law enforcement who could determine the appropriate response.

The document reviewed by Bohnen identified Hittesdorf’s phone number, physical address and potential internet service provider/

A court appearance was set for 8:30 a.m. Jan. 21 on Zoom.

Starting at $4.38/week.
