Two people suspected in a string of burglaries and thefts around Lyon County were apprehended Tuesday in rural Redwood County, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 42-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from rural Walnut Grove were arrested, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

On Jan. 28, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Redwood, Murray and Pipestone County Sheriff’s Offices, the Morgan, Westbrook and Sleepy Eye Police Departments, and the Buffalo Ridge and Brown, Lyon, Redwood and Renville Drug Task Forces to execute multiple search warrants in Redwood County. During the search, law enforcement seized controlled substances, a firearm, and property that had been stolen in multiple incidents in and around Lyon County, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.

The two suspects were arrested and taken to the Redwood County Jail for possession of controlled substances and illegal possession of a firearm, the Sheriff’s Office said. Law enforcement agencies will also give reports to their respective county attorney offices for consideration of burglary, theft and possession of stolen property charges.
