Three injured in Ivanhoe crash
IVANHOE — A Lake Benton man and two other people were injured in a crash involving a semi truck Monday afternoon, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Glen Nick Dagel, 58, was taken to Sanford Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash was reported at 2:32 p.m., at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Minnesota Highway 19, just outside Ivanhoe. A 2024 Freightliner semi driven by Idris Nasir Hasan, 38, of Philadelphia, was eastbound on Highway 19, and a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Dagel was northbound on Highway 75 when the vehicles collided, the State Patrol said.
Road conditions were snowy or icy at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said. The State Patrol also reported that the occupants of both vehicles were not wearing seat belts.
In addition to Dagel, Idris Hasan and a passenger in the semi, Paulette Cora Hasan, 35, were also injured. Idris and Paulette Hasan were taken to the Hendricks hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Two other passengers in the semi, a two-year-old child and a one-year-old child, were uninjured, the State Patrol said.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Ivanhoe Fire Department and Ambulance and Hendricks Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
