MARSHALL — Lyon County Sheriff dispatcher Mary Gislason hugged Sgt. Adam Connor and Sheriff Eric Wallen at the end of her last shift after 43 years of service.
Gislason officially retired from the Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon, and received a final farewell from friends and co-workers.
Gislason walked out of the Law Enforcement Center past a line of Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicles with flashing lights turned on, and a group of officers and supporters.
Over the radio, Lyon County dispatchers gave Gislason’s final 10-7, the code for an officer going off duty. Dispatchers added that Gislason served “with integrity, dedication and grace, each and every day.”
