Marshall approves new taxi license
MARSHALL — This week, the Marshall City Council approved a new license for a taxicab operator in the city. Council agenda materials said a former driver for Southwest Minnesota Taxi had applied for a license after Southwest Minnesota Taxi ceased operations.
The taxi license was included as an item in the council’s consent agenda on Tuesday. The item wasn’t discussed by council members, but agenda materials said Rex Bertram had applied for a 2025 license. The agenda materials said Bertram recognized there was a need for additional vehicle services in Marshall after Southwest Minnesota Taxi closed at the end of 2024. He wished to continue that taxi service.
There were two other licensed taxi operators within the city of Marshall, council agenda materials said. Those operators are DownTown DD/Marshall Taxi, and Rugama’s Taxi.
City council members approved the taxi license for Bertram as part of the consent agenda.
