Three hurt in three-vehicle crash on Hwy. 23
COTTONWOOD — Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 23 near Cottonwood on Tuesday, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A Cottonwood man and a Minneota man were taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
The crash was reported at 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 10. At the time of the crash, a 2013 Peterbilt semi truck driven by Travis Daniel Downing, 44, of Minneota, and a 2016 GMC Canyon driven by Taiven Kenneth Isaackson, 19, of Cottonwood were southbound on Highway 23. A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Michael Wayne Gort, 81, of Marshall, was eastbound on County Road 10. All three vehicles collided in the intersection, the State Patrol said.
Gort received non life-threatening injuries, but did not go to a health care facility, the State Patrol reported. Isaackson and Downing were taken to the Marshall hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood Fire and Ambulance, and North Memorial Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
