HENDRICKS–Stanley D. Gorecki, age 91, of Hendricks, MN, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Hendricks Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe, MN. Burial will be in the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Ivanhoe. Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.
Stanley Donald Gorecki was born on December 13, 1932 to Stanley and Francis (Jerzak) Gorecki at the family home in Lincoln County, Minnesota. He attended country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Hendricks High School in 1951. Stan worked on the farm until he was drafted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged and returned home to work on the farm with his father.
Stan was united in marriage to Marie Kern on August 20, 1960 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Minneota, MN. The couple made their home on a farm by Hendricks where he farmed, and they raised their family. He later went to work driving truck for Bradley Trucking. He retired from trucking and then later drove tractor for Olsen Custom Farms for 15 years.
Stan passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Hendricks Hospital at the age of 91.
He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Stan was also a member of the Rueben-Hansen American Legion Post 195 in Hendricks. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and hunting. Stan thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Marie Gorecki; four children: Ronald, Douglas and Shawn Gorecki and Michelle (Steven) Schouviller; three grandchildren: Walker, Hunter and Ashlyn Schouviller; sister Jean Bukovich; and nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Todd, Brian and Bradley Gorecki; brother Ronald Gorecki and sister Joann Virshek.
