Michael Rex Stoks

MARSHALL–Michael Rex Stoks, of Marshall MN passed away suddenly on Monday, November 11, 2024, from multiple medical issues, at the age of 68. Michael was born July 18, 1956 to Henry & Marie (Thielges) Stoks in Marshall MN. Mike grew up in Taunton MN and attended Taunton Public and Minneota High School, graduating in 1974. Mike was proud of his service in the US Army from 1974 to 1977, stationed in Texas and Germany. On May 17, 1980, Mike was united in marriage to Danette Vien at St. Mary’s Chapel in Marshall MN. The couple made their home in Marshall where they raised their sons: Chad and Joel. Mike was an entrepreneur, operating several businesses, including Stereo Depot. Mike could build or fix anything, especially electronics, and explain the process in detail.

Mike drove the Tony’s Pizza Education Unit, and along with Danette, presented at schools and events across the country. Mike drove semi for several local businesses, including Schwan’s. Mike enjoyed helping others and offering his services to those in need.

Mike has donated his body to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN for medical studies, having experienced numerous medical procedures, including a liver transplant.

Mike is survived by his wife Danette and sons, Chad and Joel; Siblings: Shirley & Roger Przybys, Ken & Jody, Tom & Diane, Joann & Mark Evjen, and Dennis & Pam Stoks.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his parents – Henry & Marie Stoks; sibling Baby Marie Stoks; and Grandparents: William & Madeleine Stoks, and Adam & Bertha Thielges.

Mike’s family recently gathered for a celebration of life in his honor.
