Karen Klatt

MARSHALL–Karen Klatt, age 80, of Granite Falls and formerly of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. A luncheon for attendees will follow the service on Friday in the church basement. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, also at the church. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshall. Karen Myra Klatt was born on October 16, 1944, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Gerald and Haleene (Schuler) Klatt. Karen graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1962, she went to work in Minneapolis and Mankato and then met and married her husband, Bob.

A divorce followed a short time later, and after her father’s death Karen moved back to Marshall where she worked in the office at the Schwan’s Food Company. She was a long-time member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshall and her other enjoyments in life included watching the food channel, reading, crocheting, visiting with friends, and adding to her handbell collection.

Karen died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Granite Falls, Minnesota. She reached the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 27 days. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her many friends and caretakers at the Granite Falls Care Center, her beloved church family members, and sister-in-law, Judy Klatt of Lynd.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Haleene Klatt; brother, Carl Klatt; and an infant brother, Ken Klatt.
