Mert Brown

SLAYTON — Services for Marlene “Mert” Theresa Brown, 78, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Burial will be private. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton is entrusted with arrangements.

She died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton.

She was born March 26, 1946, in Wilmont, to Paul and Mary Ann “Babe” Schettler Platt.

Survivors include her husband, John of Slayton; seven siblings, Vicky Plaisance of Hadley, Karla Mahon of Slayton, Augusta Meyer-Brandt of Isle, Bruce Platt, Bryon Platt, Bernie Platt all of Iona, and Barry Platt of Cleveland.
