Darlene Erickson

PALM BAY, FL–Darlene Erickson, 89, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. Born in Seattle, Washington, in 1935, she was the daughter of Adelheid and Otis Goit. In 1957, Darlene married the love of her life, Denton Erickson.

Darlene was a compassionate nurse who spent many years caring for others at Granite Falls Hospital. She and Denton also spent 40 years raising hogs on their farm in Hanley Falls, where they built a life full of hard work, love, and dedication. Later in life, Darlene found joy in breeding and caring for Collie dogs, a passion that brought her much happiness.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Darlene was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be remembered for the warmth and laughter she brought into the lives of everyone she knew.

Darlene is survived by her children, Diane, David, Debbie, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her brother, Dale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denton; her parents, Adelheid and Otis Goit; and her sisters, Shirley and Phillis.

A celebration of life will be held on June 3rd at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church at 1pm, Hanley Falls, Minnesota, In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory. Darlene will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
