Elaine Katherine Wyffels

MARSHALL–Funeral service for Elaine Katherine Wyffels, 76, of Marshall, MN will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Horvath Remembrance Center at 11:00 a.m. Public visitation will take place on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at the Remembrance Center. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service Tuesday morning. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall following the funeral service. Upon conclusion of the graveside service a luncheon will be provided at Carlin Hall.

Elaine Katherine (Andries) Wyffels was born on April 26, 1948, to Fred and Marie (Vandorpe) Andries at Gray’s Hospital in Marshall. In 1952, her family relocated from Ghent to Minneapolis. During this time Elaine attended 1st – 3rd grade at Incarnation Grade School. In 1956, her family moved to South Minneapolis and Elaine attended Visitation School. She later graduated from Regina High School in the spring of 1966. Elaine then continued her education at the University of Minnesota. She then worked in the Hennepin County Welfare office until her marriage.

In 1973, Elaine married the love of her life and best friend Gary Wyffels at the Church of the Visitation in Minneapolis. The couple farmed south of Marshall until 1986. Elaine then began a job at Wells Fargo Insurance Agency until the company closed in 2012. Once this happened she began working for Camden Insurance until February 2024.

Elaine was a member and president of Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women and a member of the Catholic Daughters. Elaine was a founding member of the Sarah Circle of Holy Redeemer. She loved being outdoors, needing the fresh air, flowers and the smell of fresh cut grass. God and family were first in her life.

Elaine passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Avera Morningside Heights under the care of Avera Hospice. She is survived by her daughter Mandy Wyffels; brothers Jim (Chris) Andries, Larry (Tracy) Andries; nieces and nephews; special friend Vicki Meulebroeck; adoptive by love daughters; and members of Sarah Circle. Elaine is preceded in death by her husband Gary Wyffels; brother Marvin Andries; sister Jeanette Pafko; nephew Darin Andries.
