Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Determan

BLOOMINGTON–Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Determan, age 76, of Bloomington, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at N C Little Memorial Hospice.

Larry was born on January 13, 1949, in Marshall, Minnesota and was the second of ten children. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1967.

He served as a US Marine in Vietnam, where he was critically wounded and was awarded a Purple Heart. From there, he would attend Dunwoody Institute and work as a tool designer at Honeywell for over 35 years. Larry was a faith-filled, kind and gentle man with a generous heart, an impeccable beard, and a laudable sensor of humor, predicated on his mantra of “never let the facts get in the way of agood story”!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivo and Margaret Determan, and his sister, Rita Larson. Survivors include his wife, Linda Edwardsen; his children, Lori Strand (John), Michelle Johnston, Lance (Lisa), and Will; his 10 grandchildren; his siblings, Monica Odom, Betty Coleman, Delphen (Cindy), Mary Catherine Struchen, Bernadette Athmann (Thomas), Therese Roberts (Brian), Anthony (Trina), Gregory; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Washburn McReavy Funeral Chapel, in Edina, Minnesota, on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation begins one hour prior.
