2025
MARSHALL–Jenny “Jen” Sullivan died unexpectedly at home on Monday April 14, 2025. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Someday’s Bar & Grill, 205 Railroad St, Evansville, MN from 1:00 – 4:00.
Jenny “Jen” Sullivan was born on November 15, 1959, in Leola, SD to Luther and Delores (Feickert) Hoffman. Jen grew up in Leola SD as one of 5 children and graduated from Leola High School in 1978. Jen graduated from South Dakota State University in May of 1982 with a degree in nursing. She worked as an RN for 2 years in Sioux Falls, SD and 34 years at the clinic in Marshall, MN. On September 8, 1984, Jen was united in marriage to Neil Sullivan. The couple lived in Marshall until they retired and moved to their lake home near Evansville, MN in May of 2020.
Jen was an avid reader and books were a constant companion. She enjoyed reading while sitting on the deck among the hummingbirds or riding on the pontoon or in the car. To know Jen was to witness a rare kind of grace – someone who gave generously of themselves to others, especially during stressful or trying times, whether offering a warm meal, a patient ear, or simply showing up when it mattered most, Jen was a source of calm and compassion.
Jen is survived by her husband, Neil Sullivan, children Ryan Sullivan (Savannah & Samairah) and Erin (Russ) Kok; siblings Marcia (Roger) DeVoe, Sandra (Gary) Rueb, Brian Hoffman and Sister-in-Law Anita (Terry) Aaker; In-Laws Jeanette (Greg) Shadduck, John Sullivan and Peggy (Wayne) Krefting as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther & Delores Hoffman, brother Dale Hoffman and Father & Mother-in-Law Sylvester and Delphine Sullivan.
