True American heroes stand up against Trump
To the editor:
The United States, unsurprisingly, has contingency plans for a war with China. If, heaven forbid, such a war broke out, one shudders to think of how many Americans might die if the Chinese government gained access to those plans. Through the bravery of some patriotic unsung heroes in the Pentagon, we may have dodged a bullet, or perhaps a hydrogen bomb. These heroes alerted the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal that Elon Musk was scheduled to visit the Tank in the Pentagon, where top generals are briefed on a need-to-know basis about the most sensitive military secrets. There, Musk was scheduled to receive a top secret briefing on America’s plans for a war with China.
Musk has admitted that he is, in his words, “kind of pro-China.” With support from the Chinese Communist government, he built a huge Tesla factory in Shanghai, which accounts “for over half of Tesla’s global deliveries and the bulk of its profits” according to the Times. He has expressed support for China’s control over Taiwan. In 2022 Marco Rubio wrote that Musk was “helping the Chinese Communist Party cover up genocide and slave labor” at Tesla’s store in Xinjiang. Musk has personal relations with several Chinese leaders. The Times reports that “some SpaceX workers have become concerned about Mr. Musk’s ability to handle sensitive information.” The Pentagon began investigating Musk’s failure to report his dealings with foreign adversaries.
When the purpose of Musk’s visit to the Pentagon was publicized, his appointment at the Tank was scrapped. Instead, he exchanged pleasantries with Pentagon staff in Pete Hegseth’s office. Donald Trump and Hegseth denied that Musk had ever been scheduled to attend the briefing in the Tank. However, Wall Street Journal reporter Molly Ball insisted that reports on Musk’s original itinerary were accurate. Speaking on Fox News, she explained, “I think the way that you know that the reporting is true is that at the same time as they were attacking the reporting, they quietly changed what they were going to do, and he didn’t end up having this briefing.”
We are fortunate that U. S. government officials swear an oath to the Constitution and not to the President. We can only hope that other patriotic bureaucrats will be brave enough to stand up for America when they see our welfare being threatened.
