MARSHALL — Multiple teams converged in Marshall over the weekend for the Southwest Slugfest 12U, 14U and 16/18U softball tournament.

In the 12U tournament, Marshall dropped both of its games on Saturday, falling to Jackfield 17-0 and 16-14 to Sauk Rapids-Rice. On Sunday, Marshall fell to Edgerton 15-2 to finish the tournament.

In the 14U tournament, Marshall fell in three games on Saturday, dropping to New Ulm 10-5, Luverne Blaze 16-1 and SWAT 10-0. On Sunday, Marshall bounced back with a 10-5 victory against White Bear Lake before falling to New Ulm 20-0 in four innings to finish the tournament.

In the 16U/18U tournament, Marshall defeated Jackson 9-0 before earning a 5-5 tie against Hastings on Saturday. On Sunday, Marshall defeated Luverne 11-0 before getting past Hastings 8-4 to finish in first place.
