Foley, Mauch each tally 6 points in Tigers’ 10-0 win at Windom
WINDOM — The Marshall girls hockey team’s offense did not let up in its Monday night road matchup against Windom. The Tigers racked up 74 shots on goal while limiting Windom to eight, riding that momentum to a 10-1 win.
Marshall’s offense was at its most potent in the first two periods; the Tigers outshot Windom 28-4 in the first period and 31-2 in the second.
Brooklyn Mauch got Marshall off to a hot start early with two first-period goals, the first of which was assisted by Abbey Foley and Peyton Demuth and the latter of which was assisted by Ava Kolander. Mauch also scored off a feed from Foley and Kolander in the second period to cap off the hat trick.
Foley tied Mauch with a game-high 6 points. She had four assists in the match and scored two goals, one in the second period off a feed from Mauch and Mia Wichmann, and another in the third off a feed from Mauch and Brianna Foley.
DeMuth, fresh off her first career hat trick, scored Marshall’s first goal of the night off a feed from Mauch and Abbey Foley. She also scored another goal off a feed from Foley in the second period to finish the night with three points.
Lily Stelter had seven saves in goal for Marshall, allowing just one Windom score in the second period when Marshall was leading 5-0.
Elsie Deutz scored a pair of goals in the second and third periods off assists from Mady Girard while Kendal Beernaert also netted a first-period goal assisted by Eme DeMuth.
Marshall improves to 4-0 with the win and will look to string together its fifth consecutive win when it hosts Hutchinson tonight at 7:15 p.m.
