Smith, Munson combine for 48 in TMB’s win over YME

TRACY — Trevor Smith and Alex Munson combined for 48 points on Tuesday night as the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton boys basketball team took down Yellow Medicine East 91-55.

Smith finished with a game-high 26 points on 11 of 18 from the field and 4 of 10 from 3-point range, while Munson added another 22 points on 8 of 18 hooting. Munson’s 10 rebounds and nine assists were also both game-highs while Smith added another seven rebounds.

Wakinyan GreyCloud led the Sting with 21 points on 8 of 17 shooting from the field while Jacob Peterson added another 18 points on 7 of 19 shooting. Each of the two knocked down a trio of trifectas.

Griffin Zick was a defensive leader for the Panthers with three steals in the game, as well as 14 points. Connor Lanoue also finished in double figures with 11 points.

For the Sting, GreyCloud’s six rebounds were a team-high, followed by Peterson’s five.

TMB remains undefeated at 6-0 on the season and will next take on Murray County Central (3-2) in Slayton on Saturday at noon.

YME falls to 1-4 with the loss and will aim to avoid its fourth consecutive loss when it goes on the road to face off against Montevideo (6-0) on Thursdy at 7:30 p.m.

Lakeview 69, Canby 49 

CANBY — The Lakeview boys basketball team defeated Canby Tuesday evening for its second win of the season 69-49, powered by Braylon Breyfogles three steals and 19 points. 

Carson Boe finished with 12 points, and Tyden Marczak also tallied eight assists. 

Lakeview shot 43.9% from the field and 86.7% at the free throw line, making 13 of 15 attempts. 

For the Lancers, Jack Abrahamson finished with a game high 23 points along with three assists and two steals. 

Canby shot 42.6% from the field, and went 2 of 9 in free throws. 

Lakeview, 2-4, will next host Minneota, 3-2, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. 

Canby, 0-6, will look for its first win when it travels to Lake Park on Friday at 5 p.m.

Dawson-Boyd 65, Central Minnesota Christian 47 

DAWSON — The Dawson-Boyd boys basketball team earned another 65-47 dominating victory over Central Minnesota Christian Tuesday evening with three Blackjacks scoring in double figures. 

Brayson Boike became the all-time leading scorer in Dawson-Boyd school history with his 15 points.

Gunner Liebl led the way with 18 points, followed by a double-double performance from Drew Hjelmeland with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Dawson-Boyd shot 51% from the field, making 28 of 54 attempts. 

Jaxton Hastad also collected three steals on the night. 

The Blackjacks move to 4-1 on the season and will look for their fourth straight win when it travels to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Wabasso 78, SESM 70

WABASSO — Brayden Guetter scored 31 points on Tuesday night to lead the Wabasso boys basketball team to its second consecutive win, a 78-70 victory over Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s.

Guetter was particularly effective in the second half, in which he scored 21 of his 31 points. Caden Frerichs also scored a total of 11 points in the game while Joe Rohlik added another 9.

Wabasso improves to 4-2 with the win and will go on the road to take on New Ulm Cathedral (3-2) on Friday at 6 p.m.
