Stensrud and Louwagie’s 10 steals help push Lakeview past AE

COTTONWOOD — Brynn Stensrud’s 19 points and five steals powered the Lakeview girls basketball team to a 48-33 win over Adrian-Ellsworth Friday evening, which marks its third straight victory.
Brook Gunlogson followed Stensrud with 9 points. Savanna Louwagie also tallied five steals, to her four rebounds and 4 points.
Anah Schmidt and Aleiah Rosenau each shared a team-high five rebounds.
Overall, the Lakers shot 26% from the field and just 14% from the 3-point line, going 3 for 21. But, Lakeview performed well at the free throw line with a 60% mark, making 9 of 15.
Lakeview moves to 5-2 and will host Benson today at 5:45 p.m. on the second day of the holiday weekend tournament.
Cedar Mountain 54, YME 49
COTTONWOOD — The Yellow Medicine East girls basketball team fell just short to Cedar Mountain 54-49 Friday morning behind Bayli Sneller’s 24 points, including seven 3-pointers.
Charlotte Paslawski followed Sneller with 7 points, all of which came in the second half. Alana Almich and Bayli Mortenson also each tallied 5 points.
The Sting move to 4-4 on the season, and will look to get back on track when it plays Adrian-Ellsworth today at Lakeview at 10:45 a.m. on the second day of the weekend tournament.
