WORTHINGTON –For the second year in a row, Murray County Central took down Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at the buzzer in the Section 3A South quarterfinals. Trailing by a point, Aidan Swenson set a screen for Dylan Kluis before catching a baseline inbound pass inbound from Hudsen Schryvers on the low block before fading into a jumper for the 48-47 victory.
The win builds on last year’s 84-83 win over TMB, in which Aidan Dierks hit a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds remaining
Swenson finished the game with 11 points and seven rebounds in the victory. Maxwell Miller led the team with 15 points in the win, Gavin Gillette added another 10, and Schryvers logged seven points, seven assists and 11 rebounds.
For the Panthers, Trevor Smith carried the scoring load with 23 poitns while Alex Munson added another 12 with seven assists and seven rebounds.
MCC improves to 17-10 on the year and will take on No. 7 Edgerton in the subsection semifinals tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Worthington High School.
TMB finishes its season at 21-7 and graduates Munson, Smith, Dalton Timmerman, Kevin Vasquez, Hadyn Ohman, Noah Knakmuhs and Cade, Taylor and Aidan Swenhaugen.

WORTHINGTON — The No. 2 Russell-Tyler-Ruthton boys basketball team’s season came to an abrupt end on Saturday in the Section 3A South quarterfinals. The Knights fell by a single possession, 64-61, to the seventh-seeded Edgerton Dutchmen to end their season at 21-6.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton graduates a trio of talented seniors in Chase Christianson, Luke Schreurs and Sean Griesse.

WORTHINGTON — The Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys basketball team couldn’t keep pace with Southwest Minnesota Christian’s high-paced offense in the 3A South subsection quarterfinals on Saturday, falling 65-41.
WWG finishes its season at 17-10 and graduates just one senior, Hudsen Jenniges.
