Tiger wrestling earns 15 All-Conference selections

The Marshall wrestling team had 15 of its athletes honored in the Big South Conference’s All-Conference team, announced on Tuesday. Among the honorees, the boys team had 10 selections while the girls team had another five.

On the boys side, Marshall had seniors Landon Martheler, Drew Chandler, Josh Kraft, Aidan Mattison and Gavin Schaefer selected to the team. Juniors Lincoln Christenson, Dawson DeCamp and Tyson Louwagie also earned the honor, as did sophomores Keynan Coequyt and Brayden Chandler.

On the girls side, the team’s lone senior — Hannah Ratajczak — was selected to the team, as were sophomores Aysia Miles, Esther Say and Sierra Bahr, and junior Traeh Siekmann Adams.

The All-Conference nods were far from the only hardware the Tigers brought home over the last week. Christenson earned Marshall’s first individual state title since 1999 in the 114AA state tournament on Saturday, while Ratajczak, Marthaler, Coequyt and Brayden Chandler each also went home with medals.

Christenson and Schaefer were also named to the Class AA All-Tournament team for Thursday’s team tournament, making them the first Tigers ever selected to the team.
