Westby, Bot named MGBCA Head and Assistant Coaches of the Year

The Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association announced its list of Coaches of the Year on Monday. Among the honorees were Marshall’s Dan Westby and Steph Bot, who were named the Head and Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively.
Westby and Bot coached the Marshall Tigers to a 29-2 record on the season. Their lone losses came to No. 3 Orono in the regular season and top-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the Class AAA championship game.
Maple Grove’s Mark Cooh and Stacie Olson were named the Head and Assistant Coach of the Year for Class 4A, Connor Goetz and Mark Forbish of Providence Academy got the nod in 2A and West Central’s Becca Holland and Luc Beireis got the election in Class A.
